Asking to pay or be paid outside PetFlip
🔨 Ban
Requesting or agreeing to gift cards, Discord Nitro, PayPal F&F, bank transfer, crypto or any payment that skips PetFlip escrow. No protection applies off-platform — this is the single most common scam pattern and is banned on first contact, not just first success.
Taking payment and not delivering the item

Confirming a trade, receiving escrow, and then not sending the item, going silent, or stalling until the 72h auto-release. Escrow is refunded to the buyer and the seller is banned.
Chargebacks or payment disputes filed in bad faith
🔨 Ban
Receiving an item and then disputing the card/PayPal charge to get your money back while keeping the item. Treated as theft, not a billing dispute.
Price tampering or manipulating checkout

Attempting to alter the price sent to checkout, replaying an old offer, or any attempt to pay less than the listed/accepted price through the app itself rather than the UI.
Pressuring a buyer or seller to skip a step
⚠️ Warning
Pushing someone to confirm receipt before actually checking the item, or to release funds early 'as a favour'. Not a scam on its own, but it undermines the escrow protection everyone else relies on.
